Man-ChesT-er

Manchester! Not that many men with hunky chests, er sorry! but dudes have cool hair styles (beckham inspired?) and babes rock! There're not that many sights to see, but the people dress well and shopping/ clubbing scene is great!! I thought it'd be kinda boring, but it's sorta like a mini mini London!

My sweet colleagues! Having lunch at the Food court in Manchester Arndale.. there's a Singaporean stall can, called "Singapore Sam" haha..

This dude stopped me at the Cathedral to ask me how to write certain phrases in Chinese, and thought i was American cos i've got an accent! huh, i SO dun have an accent lor.. i just speak PROPERLY.. Most pple think us chinese can't speak english well!

The gals were so funny! They saw me taking pics and wanted to take some with me too! ha. Some sights in Manchester City, this area looks bit dutch... and that's the tram we took to Old Trafford!

Here's the Manchester Wheel, reminds me bit of the London Eye.. N Hard Rock Cafe! I'd always check out the Hard Rock cafes all over the world.. interesting! But i never get anything though, ain't a collector!

Primark!!! Wa, it's great shopping!!! A DEFINITE MUST GO if you head to Manchester! It's so darn cheap and the stuff are actually NICE! Like, i thought it'd be like 'Ross' in the States, where the clothes are bit old fashioned and big, but no! Guess it's not that worth it to get tops from here cos elsewhere could be cheaper but the winter wear here are lovely and warm!

I thought it'd be quite chilly but the weather was perfect! so i didn't wear the white Mango coat i brought, or the fur jackets i bought.. and then take pics with the plain blue sweater i got at some cheap shop when i was in Japan.. :P

Dinner at HenryJ Beans Bar& Grill.. yumz! I dropped this silver pouch i bought and was rather upset but then it miraculously appeared in front of me! This waitress found it and i exclaimed it was mine! She would have kept it.. yay! heh.

Cheers to a relaxing dinner.. I had Espirit Martini! It's really good! Don't think they've got it in Singapore though.. that's my mashed potatoes! Super big bowl and slurpy sauce!

We decided to save money on breakfast so we woke up to make ourselves the meal! From the groceries we got from Tesco Metro supermart.. :) In total we spent like 9pounds, compared to the 9pounds we got to paid EACh if we had breakfast anywhere!

Went to Urbis Museum to check out what's goin on.. Mick Rock's Photography.. Hmm duno who he is, so didn't see his exhibition.. had to pay 5 extra pounds so i didn't bother basically... But i took the glass elevator and explored the museum abit..

My dear friend! Dressed so nicely ay!! He took time off to travel from Liverpool to Manchester to meet me! yay! I made him go to Old Trafford with me, just as well since he's never been there! N he's been here for two yrs already!

Man U Museum... where they displayed all their trophies and cups won over the years.. many pics/posters, programs and cuttings.. as well as the team players names written on this really long wall!

Reds Cafe.. I had Fish and Chips, with mashed peas!

Man U Pitch!!! I took all four sides cos we moved around with a tour.. if no tour, confirm get lost! It's really huge inside! Must be chaotic when there's a game!!! They don't have bins anywhere ard, for security reasons, just in case pple put bombs in, so the stadium is a huge mess after each game and it takes the cleaners quite a while to get all the litter cleared!

The pitch is maintained in a condition so that players are able to play regardless of hot / cold weather. 50 - 1000 pounds are paid a month to maintain the heat on the pitch, depending on the period and degree of coldness. (WOW! that's heaps!) Water from the rain are drained and stored in huge manholes and then if the pitch is dry, water is released and yay, flourish the green!

This is the press room, where new players that join the team are announced in here.. ( I was eyeballing this couple who were just abt to stand next to me and take a pic, not caring i was there.. grr) The directors' box, names are stuck on chairs for those big shots to sit.. I sat in Sir Alex's seat, which he never sits on during a game!

Players Lounge.. Here's where David Beckham and Posh Spice (Victoria Adams) first met eyes and fell in love!! The players chill out here before the game.. and sometimes with one or two of their closest friends/family after the game.. They can get drinks, watch tv, read the papers etc!

This is the players' changing room.. Most of the time, players train at Carrington, where the place is newer and cosy etc.. They play their games in this stadium cos it's been ard for ages.. Players run out from the LEFT!!!

Ooh Ronaldo is so cute! N he's wearing Beckham's old jersey number! I'm sorry about the bad article on his supposed rape.. but somehow i dun believe it.. N Smith's cute too!

The Imperial War Museum! We took the lift up to the observatory and look at the view! Amazing!!

The Lowry.. A newly built building with exquisite architecture.. I like! We took a rest at the cafe here before making our way to Liverpool for dinner!

Liverpool... It's a 45 mins train ride from Manchester...

My friend's room and kitchen! He lives in a shophouse with three other friends! But it's a pretty big place with three floors! I took a pic of his female fren's room too! I like the princess-like curtain thing that she hung! After that the cab we called came, we rushed out and i Didn't bring my camera! BUMMER!!!!

We went to Albertdocks, like this riverside classy area, but EVERYWHERE was booked, can you believe that?? on a Thursday?? So we went to town and ate at bar&grill where i had yumz lamb steak! The decor and art there were so beautiful, wished i taken pics man..

Apparently people club here like every single day in Liverpool, there IS a night life! Many other cities don't really, but then again, it's the U.K! I will check them out next time!

Korean Junkie

Oh i've justified my text! Never did so it looked so untidy! Much neater now huh!The rain is SO heavy today.. I like the rain.. esp so if i'm indoors.. :) Cos i've always feel i'm like water (in many meanings than one).. and when i'm down, heaven cries with me.. (but when it rains, doesn't mean i'm down.. erm have i said this b4? ha) The sun shone while it rained.. rainbow!

I've embarked on my KOREAN drama series dvd journey.. But the stupid supposedly original ones (who am i kiddin?!) is quite crap. The quality is good, it's clear and doesn't skip BUT can tell that not all the parts were recorded lor!!! ARGH!!!! NO MORE CHINA DVDS! (well, at least no more so-called original ones.. then i won't feel so dui tt i paid a higher price or wat) HEH

THIS IS THE GUY THAT I THINK IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Ok fine, he's not like damn cute or wat.. but he's got damn nice nose! I've got a nose fetish! He's everything i want IN a guy! i guess it's most prolly his role in the show.. heh. I attempted to look for his pics online but DUN HAVE so NO CHOICE but to snap while the dvd was running! N i dun even know his name! The series is called "Crown Prince First Love".. I cried alot can.. i'm a romantic oK!

Ok i shall blab bt the show.. i was conscienciously watching each and every episode... refraining from jumping to the last bit so that i can follow the progress of this cute guy and gal's relationship.. It's damn drama but i really FEEL IT CAN? like i know i'm a crybaby but like Korean dramas are the only ones that really make my heart beat real fast or prick it.

Anyway, i buay tahan (cannot take it) already so i skipped to the last bit whilst starting on the third last episode.. and i found out my cute guy and gal DID not end up together! I tell you, my heart literally broke. Like i could HEAR and FEEL it break into a million shattered pieces. Their love relationship was keeping me hanging on to the show every second and the knowledge of the ending ruined it. I couldn't bear to bring myself to watch the last three episodes.. disheartened to the max. SIGH.

No wonder i was thinking how come they got together so early in the show despite their probs la! My cute guy here ain't the lead (the crown prince). In the end, the cute gal ended up with the crown prince. (thus the title of show). This is where i have some thoughts:

ARE GALS TOUCHED/MOVED BY WAT A MAN DOES? I guess to a certain extent (more so if you like the guy too!) cos most would wana be loved than to love, but of course best case scenario is to have it a mutual affair. But this gal in the show, DID NOT Even like the crown prince, at all! N then he was so damn sweet and she felt guilty and eventually grew to love him! HUH?! BUT the CUTE guy was someone she had admired for damn long and not say he dun love her too wat..

SO WAT IS IT? Is it a case of settling? Both guys love her alot and are sweet to her, but she chose the one whom she initially didn't like. AY? i dun bloody get it!!!! If it were me, and i liked someone for a while and when i realise he likes me too and after the probs we had, i'd stay by him liao lor! Somemore he's so perfect! ARGH! I can go on and on and on.. cos i'm so PEK CEK (frustrated) and GEK (stumped) !!

But yes yes... it's JUST A SHOW... Got many more i wana watch still! :) I'm so INTO it i think i'm MAAAAADD.....

Drag Queen Pageant

PANASIANS

Being of mixed heritage, Caucasian and Chinese = Eurasian, used to be DAMN IN.. but then the Japs took over and now Koreans are a big rage!! Well at least here in sg it is now.. Fads fads fads. What happened to being happy BEING CHINESE?!?!!

I think being eurasian is still in though.. like it's some classic tt'd never fade away in style kind.. I'm EURASIAN!!!! YES I AM! Ya, westernised in thinking and physically chinese. Why cannot ar? Food also got fusion cuisine, so why can't pple's thoughts be personalised too? BLEH.

It was some friends' bday celebration on sat! One of them is my college mate on the left! She has FOUR other sisters can! N the gal on the right is a damn good singer from my college as well! She performs at Acid Bar on Wed and Sat (think fri also).. check her out! Thx for announcing my name in the pub ar.. heng not everyone know who she's talking about..

I went for the Drag Queen Pageant at Zouk. Met a couple of my friends who were working with Textile and Fashion company who helped organise the event.. It's the closing day for Singapore Fashion Week! Bumped into some sec sch frens and hung with them.. i originally went to meet my guy fren (upper left) but he pang seh me! :P

ON the invites, it said "Singapore most Wanted", to jus lure pple there la.. but think everyone knew it was a drag thing. But when we went in, the screen said "Singapore Most UNwanted" N truely the most CMI drag won.. *roll eyes*

The pageant was So-So.. purely for entertainment purposes.. some parts were funny and the a few "ladies" were real jude but some bits were boring, maybe cos i was tired too and the show started like an hour late can!! See, it's shows like that that make pple come late for shows! cos they assume we always start late! NOT TRUE!

My friends involved were hanging out in front as crew and taking pics.. Hongkong celeb Nancy Sit, Local celeb Jeff Wang, Local designer Jeremy Tan and photographer Jeoff Ang were judges...I was just standing next to them, slightly behind, couldn't move anywhere front liao.. there were steps and at the bottom were for media.. it was so packed considering it was a Sunday night.. didn't pple have to WORK??

Zouk REOPENS! And TriBuTe

Went for the Zouk Reopening Launch!!! Wanted to be the first few pple from the public to see how the new zouk looks like! Damn tired but still head down at 6pm can?! Shall take never seen before pics! IN bright light and NO pple! Hurray!



This gal with funky hairdo is SO Cute! She's a friend's friend... She reminds me of my good gal friend cos they have the same hairstyle, both are rather petite and pretty thou bit boyish, and both cannot speak chinese properly to save their lives! The similarities are uncanny! damn amusing la! Flanked by my guy friends! haha




Members.. It has changed quite abit ay! So much classier now with MORe space! Cos like i said in some posts earlier that it's jus ridiculously packed with pple all the time and yes there's a TOILET here too! Finally!




Other changes in zouk include the toilet on the second floor next to the bar, the toilets are smaller now, and there's a common place to wash your hands in some fountain like thing outside! It looks nice but i don't quite like the idea cos i rather get ALL my business done in the comfort of the toilet then head out! There's also this little area next to the bar! I call it the VVVVIP area! ha. Cos they realised being in members not so privillege liao. Here's the place man!

The pathway has changed to some ice tunnel effect thing.. Sweet. The dance floor and bars are similar still, just with some additional paint and craft done.. Velvet change is the least significant of all. I didn't head in to Wine bar to see the changes.. heh. but from how much i saw of it, it looks pretty much the same, i really hope the toilet is different though..




Phuture! Most drastic change of all! The place is way MUCH bigger, the chairs are funky in shape, the seats have arms, for more pple to sit on and hang at the sides i guess... It just looks so much better now and they kinda added an extra bar behind! Great la..




Ok the Preparty thing was def a gimmick! We were LOCKED in and those who wanted to come in cldn't! They wanted the group of us to dance with some employed pro dancers while they do some shoot! I swear it's almost like we were conned to be talents! Bah.

Anyway, they did give us FREE BOOZE ALL NIGHT long so we entertained ourselves by eating and drinking till we had to 'dance'. Machum refugee camp, see the white tentage? that's where our food was.. It was a good move cos after that we all were more into it cos of the drinks mainly and we danced abit and then it was like ok liao and then the public started to come in!





My Friends! Didn't take many cos it was F**King packed, my batt was flickering/dying plus i got quite high after so basically no pics!

TRIBUTE TO MIKYRA

"Nothingness"

My only standing hamster passed away yesterday.

I only found out when i came back from Zouk.

I went to bury her when i woke up today,

Next to her sister, Tea,

Who died almost exactly 2 yrs ago.

Mikyra was with me since she was a month old.

And she had lived on for a good 2 and a half yrs.

I thought she would have died soon after Tea.

But she hung on strong.

For what reason I'm not certain.

I believe it is due to old age.

She died on the wheel, seemingly reachin out for her bowl of food.

Or could it even be for me.

I hope her last moments were peaceful,

And that she was calm, filled and unsuffering

Goodbye Mikyra and Be with God,

The spot where your cage was will be empty

N i will miss saying Hi and Bye to you

Whenever i come home or leave the house.

It'd be hard at first but i'll move on.

"Don't be sad that she passed on,

But be happy that she lived so long."

AC Barker Friends! Apparently hair cuts are ex in Aus, so like they either D.I.Y or just leave it long! Most of my guy frens overseas do that too.. It was rather chilly cos it was raining and all so my friend lent me his leather jacket from Target! Not too shabby! heh




We met some other friends of mine and i introduced and the boys hit it off! Was supposed to meet my other gf but she's stuck doin assignments. BummER. Had jap food! MY FAVE SALMON! and UNAGI! Was super hungz. Too bad Sushi Suma at Cleveland Rd was closed then. My fren said the food there's superb! Next time! Then hopped to some cafe for Hot choco.. Nice.




My RI friends! This is my friend's new apartment.. the last time i came here he was staying somewhere else.. but i love his new place! It's so chill. My other friend just moved out of his apt back to stay with his family.. house damn big but far! checked it out before. :) His roomie, this half caucasian and chinese dude just got attached! Congrats! He's such a sweetie and cutie! Didn't meet him this time cos he's bz with stuff too.. They had the Las Vegas dvd series playing.. the episode with Jaymee Ong! She's SO FREAKING JUDE can?!!




Us in the car to Bondi Junction! My friend said that it's kinda like Taka in Sg.. but not really, bit maybe. There's like a 'high end' side and then the 'cheapo' side.. i think we were jus walkin the high end side cos i didn't see any cheap stuff lor!

Sticky - a shop where they sell sweets and make em right in front of your eyes! N how perfect timing cos we were in time for them to make Watermelon sweets! I've been to factories before but never a sweet one! Yea there was no Willy Wonka in my childhood either.. ha. Ms Swakoo here was how excited!




Steps:
1) Pour out mega hot sugar liquid into a surface measuring ? x ? cm...
2) Pour the colors out into the liquid and stir
3) Cut out according to the different color areas
4) To make a lighter color, stretch/pull and fold them like alot of times
5) Make the 'seeds' for the watermelon using the black bit
6) Wrap the pink part ard the black
7) Twist it and cut into three equal parts (depending on how many 'seeds' you'd like to have) and stick together to form a pink whole
8) Wrap the white part ard the stucked pink whole
9) Stick the green ( 80%) and light green (20%) parts together and flatten out.
10) Put this green part over the white part (which includes the pink and black bits yar)
11) You pull and lengthen it to form thinner stick bits




and TADA! Chop them up into smaller bits and you've got watermelon sweets! You could still feel the warmth of the sugar can! Tts why they had gloves on throughout the making of the sweets. The dude gave us a longer stick each to suck! Yum!




Saw cute puppies at the pet shop! N there's this computer map thing that allows you to put the name of shop you're looking for.. and viola! The com will show you how FAR it is FROM where you ARE, the street name etc! It's an AREA directory!




After I got chocs for my mum, we went to Sports Bar at the Regent, near New South Wales (NSW) uni. Food and booze are damn cheap ard this area cos it's mainly catered for students! It's funny cos i recently bumped into my college fren on the bus in sg, who JUS graduated from here! Too bad i never met up with him in syd! Australia is comin on strong on the ban of smoking.. so can't smoke in heaps of areas liao.. like in sg next yr! Thus i'm gona quit! Might as well! Does me more good in many ways!

Oktober Fest in NSW uni.. it's an annual thing and is like the last mega uni party for the year and i happen to be here on the night! so OF COURSE i went la! It's free if you're a student in NSW, but A$15 if you're a student elsewhere and A$25 if you ain't a student. So my friend got me his gal friend's ID and driving license and i had to memorise her name, student number, address, date of birth! But security didn't even ask me a single question! I guess all asians just look the same to them! ha. Check out the freaking queue!!




The place is madness can! The queues are CRAZY! You take forever to get drinks or food! Tt's UNI BAR.. the yellow strip thing. This stupid guy kept on grabbing my hand to take a pic of him so i cldn't hold still.. bah. Every uni has their own bar in sch but apparently NSW is like most famous. NSW get great equipment, djs etc to create a cool atmosphere for clubbing!




Met some of my friend's friends.. and my spanish-filipino guy friend! I met him two years back when i was staying here for awhile.. and we managed to keep in contact since! He's damn cute la.. my guy frens agreed!

Too bad it started raining again so we left pretty early! I got quite drenched.. hope i don't fall sick man! My friend was so sweet, he drove me to the Drive Thru to get Krispy Kremes! yay!
