Great Wall of China
BEIJING!!!! Capital of China! Of course it used to be Nanjing..
I think my middle name should be called Sunshine, cos while i was there, the temp was the highest in DAYS! like 14 degrees.
Likewise for NYC, when i got there, it just stopped snowing.. Great to head out! I bring warmth to the world! hahahaha.
Anyhoo, my FIRST TIME HERE!!! Joined a tour to sightsee, instead of following the crew to shop..
Most of them only know how to shop.. Adventurous bit la.. not say ask you to walk alone in the streets

Went to this Cloissonne factory..
Saw how these products were made from scratch..
Quite a lot of effort i must say...

Tada!

Always thought the designs were cheesy, but they've got some nice ones too!
I actually bought a bracelet with horoscopes engraved! N this box for souvenir sakes.
(of course i saw some SO much cheaper at the Great wall area and totally kicked myself)
Went for an early lunch! If i had known, i wldn't have taken such a heavy breakfast! grrr.

The place we had lunch at was just next to the Cloissonne factory...
Here's the tour group!

In the bus on way to Great Wall.. I snapped pics from a distance!!!
WHoo hoo!!!
I MUST SEE THE ALL the 8 WONDERS in the world! Now, minus one!

There're shops selling souvenir items and i bought this certificate to proof i've climbed the Great Wall! You can only get it here!
There're cable cars as well...
The Great Wall is really huge, there are different parts..
Some have been restored and some parts no... We were brought to Mutianyu part that's restored mostly...
N the second busiest/most popular part next to the Badaling one...

Took the ride up.. N gona take the slide down!!! Wheee....
Met this other gal from Qatar Airlines.. She's really sweet...
N yes, i KNOW my shades sucks big time! I hope i can exchange it... argh.

Look at the view!!
Of course nothing beats being there yourself to feel it
Tot it would be cold, but thankfully not cos i didn't bring enough wear! think it was actually hotter here than down below...

The wall's Totally manmade under the Qin Dynasty.. they used just clay, sand, mud and water before..
Now after being restored in the Ming Dynasty, it's replaced by slabs, concrete and bricks... To add more protection for the villagers then.
See that cannon thingie? I guess must be to rid of invaders as well.
I can't rem how long the wall is exactly, but there's no exact measurement due to erosion and that some folks actually take bricks back for momento or to build houses!

Finally at the end of the route! the top of this part!!!
Some of the steps were pretty steep... My legs were kinda aching after.. ha
But mind over matter!

THe slide was way fun!!!!
You can control it yourself.. To brake, you pull back, to go forth, you push it forward...
Yee HA!

GREAT WALL OF CHINA....

The left pic was taken when i first got on the bus, excited and raring to go!
The right pic was obviously the aftermath. Shack yo!
I wana see Tian An Men, Forbidden City next time round! N yes, maybe some shopping too at Ya Xiu, Hong Qiao and Li Du!
