Egypt

In Cairo..

Went to the Museum where all the things dug up from the Pyramids are brought to..

So there's really nothing left in the pyramids and tombs actually...

Unfortunately we were not allowed to take any pictures in the Museum so you've to go see it for yourselves!

I saw REAL LIFE MUMMIFIED corpses.. they looked so preserved it's creepy!!

There's even hair strands and nails left still..

The bazaar where i spent U.S$30! wa like that also can.

Bought 6 pairs of earrings for U.S$5, different types of souvenirs for U.S$8...

...and this shisha bottle with different flavoured shisha and charcoal!! (U.S$17)

The vase is pink in color! :)

Egypt is known for its pure perfume scents but I was told not to get any from the bazaar cos they're probably diluted..

The security in egypt is tight, esp at schools or hotels... alot of gun carrying men...

Cos it's really unsafe there, like pple get kidnapped and theft happens often apparently...

Took the Nile River cruise at night... Nile River as you know, is the longest river in the world!

N it flows throughout egypt, like you can see it everywhere!

We paid U.S$12 for transport, the cruise where we had performances put up for us and food as well..

BUT BOTH THE SHOW N FOOD SUCKED. oh well, just for the experience.

I got pulled, rather, Dragged up on stage by this lady and she wanted the donkey to kiss me for some act which i didn't wana help in..

But the stupid guy inside was like bumping its head into me and it felt disgusting and dirty already so i REFUSED and covered my mouth!

Can you spot that from the pic? hee. So she had no choice but to call another willing party. ha

N there was this guy who could like do spins n turns forever, i thought he was quite good.

Bit funny cos he also had his own little mini me who was trying to 'mess' things up for him..

But i kinda felt bit sorry for the mini me though.. must midgets always act stupid or sth? They're no different from us what really...

N another belly dancer! but this time her dress is so not nice and .. aiya, just look at pics above and you'll understand what i mean la.

She tried to get me up and dance with her but i refused man. She yanked my arm really tight though. argh. Oh yea, with all that strength.

Some pics taken on the deck, the Nile river and the surrounding buildings, and just around the cruise ship...

Even got one with the captain and i laid hands on the steering wheel! heidiho!

I like this door with the different horoscope signs... N there's mine!

It was some public holiday so the streets were REALLY DAMN packed when we made our way back to the hotel in the car...

Pyramid Tour the next day!

THe puzzling thing about some of the housing in egypt is that they're built half way and then pple live in them already!

Like you can tell they're not done, like as thou the builders suddenly got sian and decided that's it..

Even windows are not built in properly.. How to keep the heat out or keep warm in the colder times??

Anyway, we stopped by the Papyrus Museum first...

We were taught how to make papyrus paper and how to differentiate the difference between the real and fake..

Fake ones are made with banana stem and the pictures are printed on and they dun last as long as papyrus ones which have pictures drawn on...

First you cut the length of the papyrus stem to the size of how big you want the paper to be,

Then you peel the skin off and use a wooden hammer and roller to squeeze water out of the papyrus to make it more lasting and less brittle.

After that, you soak it for 6 days in water. (the longer you soak it, the darker the papyrus paper would be)

Then you place the straps of papyrus horizontally and vertically to form a canvas. Leave it under this super heavy metal thing for another 6 days.

Lastly, put it out in the sun to dry for 1 day.

DONE! I asked for a stem but think it has dried up now..

He told us the history behind some art work in the museum.. it's really interesting how the egyptians thought before...

Like for example, when a person dies, his heart will be dug up and weighed by the God of Justice.

If the heart is heavier then the feather of Justice, then you will not have an after life cos your heart will be eaten by the God of Punishment (which looks very much like a wolf)

If the heart is lighter, means you do more good deeds in life, you will get the key of life and live in paradise with the Goddess of Love and Goddness of Beauty...

Something like that la.. that's as much as i recall...

I bought a papyrus art for keepsake! I'm a sucker for souvenirs... Got the smallest one cos it's not cheap! but authentic and guaranteed they say.

Had lunch here before heading to the Pyramids.. Wa liew the food took like a million years to come and we were their only customers can?! Plus food so ex!!!

Here we are at the Pyramids finally.. and some dude telling us the rough plan of our tour...

That's the miniature set of the entire land area...

On a camel again!!! This time for much longer! My bum was super sore after the ride man! N my camel was one feisty animal!

They had some exacavation thing going on.. think they searching for something but i wasn't told what..

It was a great day! The sun was shining brightly but the winds were pretty cooling as well..

The three big pyramids belong to the Kings and there are 60 small ones belonging to their queens or sth like that...

THe marbles made to built some parts of the pyramids were all over the sand.. i wonder how the further ones got there.. wind? must be really strong ones man.

THis teenage boy was selling drinks, and he spray painted his donkey ORANGE to attract tourists' attention.. poor donkey!

This little hole there was where slaves stayed when they were building the Pyramids.. of course they all were killed after it was built to protect the secrets of the pyramids..

I climbed up the Pyramid.. but not to the highest point of course!

We didn't go into any Pyramids, cos as i said, everything inside's been taken out already...

But we did pay extra to see the inside of a tomb... but actually nothing much also..

Some carvings, holes and air vents..

Here's the tomb of this lady, whose name i dun remember now..

But her body's lying in the Pyramid museum now, one of those corpses i saw apparently...

The holes are dug as graves for slaves. Wa, so jialat. Like slipshot work and not even deep can.

I wanted to get near the Sphinx to take a pic but we were running late and they were goin to prepare for the evening light show...

Disappointed.

Anyhoo, we were brought to wash our hands and then into this air conditioned room where they let us smell pure perfumes...

Like different scents are meant for different things.. like there was one that could make a guy go headoverheels for a gal! HA

N yes! I bought a small bottle! It's like this mix of honey and lemon I think...

Heard the price went up and they use to give away those uniquely shaped glass bottles, but they didn't this time round...

Pple are gettin more business minded i see...

Cairo's mini Hard ROck Cafe.. this pink tee is cute! but i didn't get it.. got a shot glass instead..

Everything touristy seems pricely charged.. but WHERE DID ALL the money go too? hmm.

Half of us paid to go and see the light show close up , and the other half decided to be cheepo and head up to the roof top of KFC/Pizza Hut to watch it instead..

Well, i was the cheepo half cos i heard that the light show wasn't anything much.

I think i made the right decision! In the end i could see the whole view, though not the laser show... but who cares.

And the commendatary was way boring and long, i could move about without worrying i'd block anyone..

Plus there was this vent that gave out hot air! It was getting chilly at night so that helped for sure.

Took a pic of the small street alongside the pyramid too..

Thinking back now, I should have went to browse around aye...

That's the sphinx and the pyramids with different colors.. quite a nice sight la. Like for 5 secs.

Here's a pic of Nile River in the day and it's a view from my hotel room! Sweet.
